The Director
of Title IX and Institutional Compliance serves as the University’s Title IX
Coordinator and leads the institution’s response to reports of sexual
misconduct, discrimination, and harassment. This role is responsible for
coordinating compliance with applicable federal and state laws; overseeing the
investigation, resolution, and prevention of complaints involving sexual
misconduct, sex discrimination, and other protected-class discrimination or
harassment; and ensuring fair, thorough, and legally compliant processes.
The Director provides supportive measures and resolution options to
impacted individuals; trains and oversees key participants in the complaint
resolution process, including investigators, hearing officers, advisors, appellate
officers, and informal resolution facilitators; develops and implements related
policies and procedures; supports compliance related to pregnancy and
childbirth accommodations; and monitors Title IX compliance in athletics. The
role also oversees education, training, and prevention programming related to
sexual misconduct, discrimination, and harassment.
Primary
position responsibilities:
- Identifies and addresses any systemic
problems/patterns related to sexual misconduct and other areas of
protected class, and works with other departments to ensure all
discrimination/harassment policies are legally compliant and communicated
to all constituencies.
- Oversees and ensures a legally compliant
intake and resolution process for discrimination and harassment complaints
from faculty, staff, and students. Oversees the investigative and
decision-making process for discrimination and harassment complaints from
faculty, staff, and students.
- Oversees the provision of case
management services for faculty, staff, and students of concern related to
sexual misconduct or protected class-based incidents, via assessment,
outreach, advocacy, and assistance in accessing university resources and
community resources and systems. Ensure Belmont community members receive
appropriate follow-up to ensure Title IX and legal compliance.
- Serves the university through
participation in institutional decision-making, university-wide committees
and teams, and attendance at campus functions. Consults with campus
partners on protected class compliance questions and concerns.
- Oversees the provision of education,
training, and services to the university community related to the
prevention of sexual misconduct, Title IX, and protected class
discrimination and harassment. The programming will focus on
comprehensive, socio-culturally relevant, and in-depth sexual violence
prevention programming, identity-based programming, and protected class
programming that engages the community in varied teaching methods,
multiple strategies, and in-depth approaches that seek to create lasting
change for individuals, groups, communities, and society.
- Serves as a consultant to the Behavioral
Intervention Team, to evaluate and determine the university’s response to
identified safety concerns involving students. Additionally serves as a
consultant to the Threat Assessment Team, which is focused on behavioral
intervention measures, both internally and externally, regarding staff,
faculty, and the campus community as a whole.

Education: Master's degree in Higher Education
Administration, Student Affairs, Law, Social Work, or a closely related field.
Juris Doctorate (JD) is preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years experience in Education,
Title IX, Civil Rights, Investigations, and/or Charge Work is required.
Certifications in Crisis Management and Title IX are preferred.

institution’s strategic objectives.
- Technical, Computer, and Software
Skills: Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and
basic databases and software.
