    Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) invites applications for a Director of Academic Support to serve on the Harrogate, Tennessee campus. This important student-facing leadership role supports academic success initiatives for professional and graduate students through academic coaching, supplemental instruction, faculty collaboration, and student support programming.


    The Director of Academic Support plays a critical role in helping students develop effective learning strategies, strengthen academic performance, and successfully navigate the demands of rigorous academic programs. Working collaboratively with campus leadership, faculty, and student affairs professionals, this position helps foster a culture of academic excellence and student achievement.


    Position Summary

    Under the direction of the campus Assistant/Associate Dean of Students and the Associate Dean of Student Affairs, the Director of Academic Support directs academic support initiatives and collaborates with faculty and course directors to develop and implement academic assistance strategies. The position evaluates and reports on the effectiveness of academic support services and provides individualized and group instructional support to students as needed.


    Key responsibilities include:

    • Directing academic support and student success initiatives
    • Coordinating academic assistance efforts with faculty and course directors
    • Developing, scheduling, and evaluating study skills programming and test review sessions
    • Providing supplemental instructional support to individuals and student groups
    • Monitoring and reporting on academic support outcomes and effectiveness
    • Supporting students in strengthening study strategies, learning approaches, and academic performance
    • Collaborating with university leadership and student affairs professionals to promote student success

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum of a master’s degree, doctorate, or terminal degree
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse constituents

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience advising pre-professional or professional students
    • Experience working with adult learners
    • Prior experience in academic support, student success, advising, or higher education environments preferred
