Position Information

  • The Equal Opportunity Specialist assists with the development, monitoring and coordination of equal opportunity responsibilities related to employee recruitment, hiring and employee retention. They will independently perform professional-level duties. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Job Duties include:
    • Consulting and providing guidance to managers, search committees & college/unit Equal Opportunity Representatives and search coordinators
    • Ensuring fair & equitable recruitment/hiring processes through routine review & audit of employment actions
    • Interpreting, communicating & applying federal/state regulations/guidelines & university policy
    • Designing and delivering training & resource materials to faculty, staff and students
    • Assisting with compiling data for various reports
    This position is part of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance, which reports to the Office of General Counsel/University Compliance Officer.
