    Virginia Tech

    Virginia Tech, a comprehensive land-grant institution in Blacksburg, Virginia, invites applications, nominations, and expressions of interest for its next director for ADA and accessibility services. This is an on-site leadership role, which may be eligible for a flexible or hybrid work schedule. The anticipated start date is January 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. 
     
    As chief accessibility and compliance officer, this senior-level position offers an exceptional opportunity to join a preeminent research university. The role is compelling for four key reasons:

    • Comprehensive oversight: Ensures seamless interactive accommodation processes for faculty and staff employees and oversees physical, digital, and programmatic accessibility for all campus community members and visitors.
    • Strategic partnerships: Collaborates with university partners to address reported physical and digital barriers and maintain full legal compliance. 
     
    The salary range is $135,000 to $145,000.

    Qualifications

    Required qualifications include: a JD or a master’s degree in education, public administration, human resources, rehabilitation, public policy, or a related field of study, or education and experience that equates to an advanced degree; progressive professional experience coordinating compliance with the ADA or Section 504; professional experience working with individuals with disabilities; demonstrated ability to assess and advise on employee and visitor requests for accommodations in accordance with applicable laws; and knowledge of the ADA standards for accessible design.
