  • The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) seeks a visionary, collaborative, and service-oriented professional to serve as its Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to shape a strategic vision that elevates the University’s capacity to attract, support, and retain an outstanding workforce.     Reporting to the Vice President & Chief of Staff, the Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is responsible for the strategic direction, innovation, and transformation of the University’s human resources functions. The CHRO will oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive HR strategies aligned with the university’s mission, vision, and goals, with a strong emphasis on HR transformation, organizational effectiveness, and talent management. This position will work closely with senior leadership to foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture while advancing human resources practices that attract, develop, and retain a high-performing workforce. Supporting an employee base of approximately 4,000 faculty, staff, and student workers, the CHRO will ensure that HR policies and processes respond effectively to emerging workforce trends, enabling all employees to thrive in fulfilling the University's mission. In addition, the CHRO will lead, mentor, develop, and empower a dedicated staff of approximately 37 human resources staff who share a deep commitment to supporting the UTEP community.
