The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) Dean's Office is accepting applications for a HR Generalist/ Senior HR Generalist to join the Human Resources Team! This role provides operational support and guidance to all CEAS departments and programs and is responsible for ensuring the overall operational effectiveness and efficiency of the college’s HR processes. CEAS is comprised of more than 20 departments, programs, and centers; over 400 faculty, and 300 non-faculty employees and growing.
This role will divide work among 2 additional peers to serve as an operational and strategic HR business partner to the CEAS classified and university staff, graduate students, and non-tenured faculty. It will provide operational excellence, guidance, advice, training, and direct assistance to assigned leadership and HR Liaisons across the college. The HR Generalist will report to the Senior Manager/Director of Engineering HR Operations, and organize efforts between the Dean's Office HR team and HR Liaisons throughout the college. The Assistant Dean for Organizational Development, Culture and Equity leads this department.
This position will be responsible for supporting the full HR lifecycle for faculty and staff, from recruitment, hiring, offer letters, onboarding, and performance management, to HR operations training, employee relations support, leave management administration, separations, offboarding, and retirements while ensuring compliance with college, university and state policies and procedures. This role will have an assigned client group that may include departments, programs, student employees, and employees reporting to the CEAS Dean’s office.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above for the HR Generalist, the Sr. HR Generalist will be expected to demonstrate greater independent problem-solving acuity and lead projects to improve HR operations efficiency within the team and across the college.
